Everyone knew that the Utah Jazz were looking to trade unhappy guard Gordan Giricek - today they finally did it. The Jazz sent Giricek and a 1st round draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for guard, and 3-point specialists, Kyle Korver.

Giricek had a serious public falling out with coach Sloan during a game against the Charlotte Bobcats - the two got into a shouting match during the game and Giricek was sent to the locker room and suspended for 3 games.

76ers GM Ed Stefanski has this to say about the trade…”We are excited about acquiring a player of Gordan’s ability, as well as an additional asset in the form of a first-round draft pick. This move will provide us with increased salary cap flexibility this offseason and also allows us to continue our evaluation and development of the young talent we have on this team.”

This season Giricek has averaged 12.6 minutes of playing time and 4.3 points per game. Korver has averaged 10 points per game and has been deadly for 3-point range.
